Cabin and Cottage Beach Homes. If you want a less formal design with a more relaxed and close-knit bond for your beach home, than a Cabin or Cottage design may be ideal for you as they are typically built smaller and close in nature. Now, you can still spend large periods of time in your Cabin or Cottage, but the compactness of this beach house design is generally used for weekend getaways, fishing trips and weekly family vacations. Cabins and Cottage homes can be fit in any surrounding within nature and can also be designed to accommodate plenty of people with numerous bedrooms, despite its smaller structure.
A-Frame Beach Homes. These homes are easily recognized by their steep roof that forms the appearance of an "A" - Hence the name. This house plan was originally designed to allow snow to fall to the ground instead of resting on the house frame throughout the colder months. However, this is certainly a beach home that can cater to tropical homes as well. A-Frame beach homes are typically designed to have high ceilings and tall window, and usually incorporate a smaller upper living space such as a loft. This floor plan is very open yet cozy.
